The author
Alexander Roob taught graphics and painting at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg and the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. In 2005 he co-founded the Melton Prior Institute in Dόsseldorf, which specializes in the history of pictorial journalism and print culture.
